High Court Gives Clean Chit To PK
A petition that had been filed against Rajkumar Hirani's PK for hurting religious sentiments, was recently dismissed by the Delhi High Court, which also gave a clean chit to the film. The court also said that they found no substance in allegations that it has defamed and maligned Hindu culture and religious practices.
The High Court was hearing a Public Interest Litigation filed by one Ajay Gautam in which he made a plea to the court to make an order for removing the objectionable scenes from the film as it has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. Similar petitions and complaints have been filed against the film in many parts of the country, but yet, the film had smashed all the past box-office records and set a new benchmark at the ticket counter by crossing Rs. 300 crore in just few days of release.
