Baby- on opening day earns Rs 9.3 crore

New Delhi-Akshay Kumar starrer Baby, which was released on Friday, had an average opening with the collection of around  Rs. 9.3 crore on the opening day at the box office. According to reports, the movie did fairly well in major cities especially in multiplexs.Baby, directed by Neeraj Pandey, opened with 25 to 30 percent grossing in morning shows, but later in the evening and night shows  audiences response increased. The films occupancy is expected to increase over the extended weekend ahead because of the Republic Day.Baby is Akshay's ninth highest opening day grosser in a list which is topped by his 2012 released movie 'Rowdy Rathore' which earned around Rs 15.10 crore followed by 'Boss' which opened at Rs. 14.5crore, respectively.

The films overseas market collection might see a descending graph as the movie has being banned in Pakistan.
"I don't know why was it banned there, and we fail to understand that. We are confused because the film is about anti-terrorism. It is totally against terrorism, not against any country. We are trying to figure out what needs to be done," producer of the film Bhushan Kumar said.
The movie revolves around an undercover unit, formed to keep an eye on the movements of terrorist groups and to nix their plans to disrupt peace and harmony in the nation. In the film, the Akshay Kumar is seen as an officer named Ajay Singh Rajput.
